Paramount Hotel and Residential Tower
Under construction. Completion Q2 2019.
The design of this hotel is inspired by the golden age of Hollywood - the Art Deco glamour of the roaring 1920s – yet with a millennial twist. The brief was to take inspiration from the Paramount studio, but not in a clichéd way - the design had to be original and contemporary.
The lobby sees a bold interplay of black and white marble with a delicate, crystal-mesh wall curtain. The outcome: a ‘red carpet’ experience for everyone who walks into the building.
As every great Hollywood director knows, it’s the attention to every small detail that makes the biggest difference. This is particularly true of the bathrooms, which are designed to create the ultimate spa experience for an A-list star.
Other design details include the rooftop pool. Rather than a standard blue tile, we worked with graphic designers to create a mosaic inspired by the design of the lobby. Touches like this draw a subtle yet important link between the indoor and outdoor spaces.
The construction process for such a lavish design presents challenges, particularly in terms of budget. To address this, we were conscious from the outset to specify finishes and products that would not only look good and be durable, but also stick within the budget.
Fitout of the Paramount Hotels & Resorts Tower Doha began in 2017, and is due for handover in 2019.
