Conrad Tower, Dubai UAE
This office is the regional HQ for an Emirati auditing firm. We worked closely with a Feng shui consultant to space plan this office.
The closed offices and conference rooms are situated towards the main glazing in the floor plate, creating a central reception and break out space. The reception evokes a hospitality feel with lacquered wooden panels that form the backdrop. The floating reception counter with built-in lights doubles up as a hot desk area for staff and a meeting zone for standing or quick supplier meetings.
This is a contemporary design accentuated with sleek ceiling details – vertical strips conceal the lighting and MEP elements within the space and also draw the eye to the back of the floorplate to create a sense of depth. We used the brand's corporate color (red) minimally through several touch points – from high stools to details within the carpet and wall hangings.
Crucially, local culture informed the design. Privacy and status are high priorities for the mostly Emirati staff, so the plan allows for 2 closed offices, 2 meeting spaces and one enclosed work bay for six people.
